We are seeking intern(s) to work with us on advocating for Congressional passage of the RACE for Children’s Act (Research to Accelerate Equity and Cures for Children Act). RACE for Children’s Act seeks to bring the most innovative medicines to children with cancer.
Healthcare affairs interns will be responsible for:
• Advocating for the RACE for Children Act. Intern(s) will meet with staff at Congressional offices to educate them about the RACE for Children Act, ask for endorsement, take notes, reply to requests for additional information, and document their communications.
• Writing content for social media.
Interns should be college or high school students, and must have a personal experience with pediatric cancer as a survivor, sibling, friend or other family member. We are looking for superior writing and presentation skills, the ability to synthesize and clearly communicate information, and a knowledge or a keen desire to learn about pediatric cancer drug development. Ability to stay self-organized and manage your own work/schedule. Knowledge of social media is a must.
This is a flexible unpaid position, about 3 days per week depending on the appointments schedule, until the end of July. Intern(s) will receive training and mentoring, and gain experience working with Congressional staff on the Hill.
