I am writing to encourage you to support Kids v Cancer by contributing generously. We cannot continue our work without support from donors like you.
We are having a major impact with modest resources:
— This summer, Congress passed the RACE for Children Act, requiring companies developing targeted cancer drugs for adults to also develop the drugs for children.
— Creating Hope Act pediatric priority review voucher program continues to generate vouchers trading at $100M-$350M, creating real incentives for companies to focus on pediatric drug development.
— Our Compassionate Use Navigator is supporting pediatric oncologists’ efforts to treat their kids with cutting edge drugs. Our autopsy tissue program continues to facilitate the donations of brain tumor tissue of terminally ill kids.
— We won the Peter F. Drucker Award for Nonprofit Innovation, in part because we produce so much “bang for the buck.”
— We have been designated as one of Fast Company’s Top 10 Most Innovative Nonprofit Companies.
All this we do on a shoestring. Frankly, we just don’t have time to fundraise because we are pushing so hard to get things done.
Our efforts do not bring back Jacob and all our kids who’ve died of pediatric cancer. However, we hope that future kids diagnosed with cancer will have better chances of living long and healthy lives because of our work.
